Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar, our Medical Director is Internationally recognized for his pioneering work in laparoscopic onco-surgery (cancer surgery) and advanced laparoscopic surgery. Dr Shailesh Puntambekar is the first Indian to perform Robotic Surgery for esophageal cancer.
Most of all, he has certainly put our city- Pune, on the global map for the “Pune Technique” developed by him, for treatment of cancers of the cervix. He has the largest International published series of Laparoscopic Radical Hysterectomy to his credit, which is today being performed in various centres all over the world.
Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar has not only done his city proud but also has made India proud on innumerable occasions. For his pioneering work in Laparoscopic Cancer Surgery, on an international level, he has been awarded the “Distinguished Surgeon’s Award”, at the “International Surgical Olympics” at Beijing China in the year 2009.
